Benjamin (Ben) Kaykham Inthisone is a soccer player from Sun Prarie, WI and Lincolnshire, IL.  He has played a the highest level of youth soccer including in the MLS Next league.  He is committed to play for NCAA Division I Soccer at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

The Next Soccer Star

The Lao American Sports Hall of Fame is proud to recognize Ben Inthisone as a rising star in soccer, honoring his exceptional achievements and dedication to the sport.


Born to parents Kayphet Inthisone and Jessica Praxaya, Ben's roots trace back to Laos. His father, Kayphet, hails from Vientiane and immigrated to the United States as a child. A U.S. Marine veteran, Kayphet served in the first Gulf War. Jessica's family originates from a small village near Savanakhet, and she arrived in the U.S. as an infant. Ben spent his formative years in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Lincolnshire, Illinois, competitively training alongside his sister, Isabelle, a former Team USA Figure Skater.


Ben began playing soccer as a child and quickly worked his way up the youth club ranks.  Ben's soccer career is marked by significant milestones:

 

  • MLS Next League (2023-2025): In 20 games, he recorded 5 goals and 12 assists. His standout performance led to his selection for the Best Of game at MLS Next Fest 2024, highlighting top talent nationwide. Notably, Ben was instrumental in leading the first Wisconsin team to qualify for the MLS Next Cup.

  • ECNL Platform – Chicago Magic (2022-2024): Competing at the highest level of youth soccer, Ben participated in the 2023 National League Pro Nationals, showcasing his skills on a prominent stage.

  • High School Soccer – Adlai E. Stevenson High School: Ben's leadership was pivotal in propelling the team to a 3rd place finish in the state in 2022. That same year, the team clinched Super Sectional, Sectional, Regional, and Conference Championships.


Beyond his on-field accomplishments, Ben exemplifies leadership and teamwork. Over the summer of 2024 Ben worked as a Community Outreach Coordinator Lincolnshire Riverwoods Fire Department.  Ben committed to play college soccer with the NCAA Division I University of Massachusetts, Lowell, starting in the fall of 2025. He hopes to one day represent his ancestral homeland of Laos in international competition.
